MANNIX HANDGUN TRAINING is appropriate for all skill levels of women, men, couples, professionals and invited adolescents. Classes are optimal with a maximum of ten students and no fewer than four. Civic, social & religious groups with ten students are encouraged with a group discount.
Students shall bring personal or borrowed handguns. A few rentals are available. It is best to train on personal handguns, but if a handgun purchase is planned, it is advisable to first have training on any handgun to better inform your purchase.
Preferred handguns for self defense are .38 caliber revolvers with snub-nose barrels and shrouded hammers. Auto-loading pistols are popular for their higher bullet-carrying capacity, but every one will eventually or frequently malfunction and be useless. In one-on-one handgun defense, a jammed pistol is worse than grave. Revolvers don’t malfunction, even covered in mud or underwater, and assailants can see the bullets pointed at them and are palpable deterrents. Autoloaders, on the other hand, are complicated, must be meticulously clean, and look like kitchen equipment. And the bad guys know that odds are you probably have no idea if the gun is ready to fire.
