concealed carry

MANNIX HANDGUN TRAINING is approved as qualifying training to obtain a concealed carry permit in Colorado, and that permit is recognized and accepted by thirty-five other states.

Colorado, as well as many other states, allows open carry, or in other words it is legal to carry a holstered handgun in plain sight.  It is also legal to conceal firearms on your property without a permit, including your place of business and your vehicles.

Allow a coat or shirt to cover a carried handgun outside the borders of your property, you then are carrying a concealed weapon, and in Colorado and most states in the US, you will need to also carry a state-issued permit.  This permit is colloquially known as a CCW (conceal carry weapon).

Carrying a concealed handgun is at best awkward, and at worse, detectable and easily seized.  But the most troubling aspect of carrying a handgun in public is relying on it for personal defense.  Far too many people believe that having immediate access to a handgun makes them safe, but without structured, tactical training, displaying a handgun in fear or anger can escalate rather than settle a bad situation.

The mind is the weapon; the gun only a tool.  Without learning how, where, when and why to use a handgun in self defense—and then train that into muscle memory—the tool will be nearly useless unless you get lucky.  Luck is not a business plan.
